UNTIL RACE DAY!
June 15, 2012

This year is the 20th annual Bighorn Mountain Wild and Scenic Trail Runs. The Bighorn Trail 100 will be held June 15, 2012 at 11:00am. The 50M, 50K and 30K races will be the following day, June 16, 2012. The runs largely continue at this time as a public service by trail running enthusiasts and volunteers in the Sheridan community to promote recreation and tourism in Sheridan County. The courses are designed to maximize the exposure of the participants, their families, and race volunteers to an extremely scenic, wild, and primitive area of our geologically unique Bighorn Mountains.

The Bighorn Trail 100 Mile Endurance Run is in its 10th year. Although it is a very difficult course, it has been a great success and participants have encouraged its continuation. This race is extremely challenging due to the rugged terrain of the Bighorn Mountains, and has become a favorite among avid trail runners. The course, an out-and-back, is at elevations of up to 10,000 feet, among fields of wildflowers and breathtaking scenery. The majority of the course is on rugged mountain trails and 4-wheel drive roads.

Each of the selections from the menu contain information pertaining to the particular race distance. The photo section has many examples of the varied terrain that you might encounter during the race. Our maps section has course maps for each distance, showing elevation and aid stations. We also have maps suitable for printing. Check out the weekend schedule and the links to local business with information about lodging and restaurants.
